SMARTIS – Smart Radiometric Camera
It is an all-in-one solution featuring a thermal camera, control unit, I/O card as well as a TCP/IP interface integrated within a single casing including an in-built webserver allowing for communication with a superior system including any PLC.
Applications:
- Machine Vision
- Process Control
- Automation
- Metrology
- Pyrometric Functions
- Temperature Measurement
Features and Configuration Possibilities
- In-built webserver for camera settings and process visualisation
- TCP/IP interface for communication with a superior system
- Digital inputs/outputs for triggering and alarm outputs
- Temperature measurement up to 1500 °C (2732 °F)
The Workswell SMARTIS thermal camera operates and configures independently, without needing direct connection to a PC or superior unit. It comes in resolutions of 336×256 px and 640×512 px, featuring a LWIR microbolometer with a spectral range of 7.5–13.5 μm and various lenses.
Measurement & Connectivity
SMARTIS is designed for process automation and machine vision, and it can be used for continuous temperature measurement in metrological and research applications. It autonomously controls smaller processes and can integrate with larger control systems. The camera includes:
- TCP/IP interface (Ethernet 100Mb/sec, RJ-45)
- Digital inputs and analogue outputs (current loop 0-24 mA/12 V)
The measurement range spans from -25 °C to 550 °C (-13 °F to 1022 °F), optionally extending up to 1500 °C (2732 °F). The camera prioritises accuracy (±2% or ±2°C) and sensitivity (up to 50 mK, or 0.05 °C).
Built-in Webserver & SDK
The built-in webserver allows for remote setup, controlling measurement functions, inputs/outputs, and image streaming options. The provided SDK enables easy integration of the thermal imager into custom devices. The Ethernet SDK provides commands for controlling the SMARTIS camera over an Ethernet connection, similar to telnet protocol.
SMARTIS Interfaces
- 4x digital input/output for triggers
- Power supply
- Ethernet TCP/IP (RJ-45) for communication with PLC and the in-built webserver
- 4x current output (0-24 mA/12 V current loop)
- 7x digital output (open collector)
