Ultra Short Pulse Motorised Beam Expander 1x – 4x
The Motorised beam expander features 1x to 4x range, that can be continuously zoomed along the domain. The product is available for all 3 harmonics (IR, GREEN & UV) for both Neodymium and Ytterbium lasers.
A divergence adjustment solution is embedded into the system to allow for smooth and fine divergence adjustment compensation, which is crucial in laser machining process fine-tuning.
Key features:
- System lifetime >2.5M cycles
- Diffraction limited performance for ≥ Ø4.5 mm beam in whole expansion range even at λ=343 nm
- Ability to sustain high laser beam energy, therefore extending laser system uptime
- Collimation is maintained during zooming
- Only 7.5mm on-axis dielectric thickness ensures the device introduces minimum GDD (Group Delay Dispersion)
- Compatible with 50 fs and shorter pulses
The Beam Expander is designed to achieve the strict stability, longevity, and robustness requirements imposed by industrial laser applications, which makes it suitable for both industrial and demanding scientific use.
It is advised to consider a high power beam expander design if average power exceeds the following values:
- 1st harmonic >100W
- 2nd harmonic >50W
- 3rd harmonic >10W

- >25 J/cm² @ 1064 nm, 10 ns, 100 Hz
- >10 J/cm² @ 532 nm, 10 ns, 100 Hz
- >5 J/cm² @ 355 nm, 10 ns, 10 Hz
LIDT with ultrafast pulses:
- >3.7 J/cm² @ 1030 nm, 10 ps, 10 kHz
- >1 J/cm² @ 515 nm, 10 ps, 10 kHz
- >0.5 J/cm² @ 343 nm, 1 ps, 1 kHz
